Hi Greg,

I started having this same trouble today.  I couldn't update Minecraft because of Fault 0x803FB005, so I tried a few guides posted online, which didn't help.

I and then uninstalled Minecraft, thinking I could reinstall and become the latest version, merely and so I got this same fault and cannot download the app.  At present I'm in deadly trouble with my son!

Cheers for the really long answer - but I'm agape none of that has worked.  I have gone for the final pick of reinstalling Windows x Pro from a USB stick without keeping files.  After information technology has all finished setting up, I try to download Minecraft from the store, and once again I get the aforementioned fault.

Is there annihilation else you tin can possibly suggest?  I could try formatting and installing Windows once more, but I'k not certain how it would give a different result...

Thank you Greg for the quick and detailed feedback.  I went through every step detailed in your response and none of them take lead to a resolution of the issue0x803FB005 fault when attempting to install Minecraft Windows Edition from the Windows Shop.  Would there be a mode to install Minecraft Windows Edition without the store?

I should too mention that other Windows Store applications install just fine and that Minecraft had installed in the past and running fine for over a year.

Having the same issue here.  Originally started when I tried to update minecraft for windows 10 on multiple devices.  Some worked but ii of them would not update from version i.xvi.40 to one.16.100.  On one device I removed minecraft and tried to reinstall from the shop.  At present all I get is the mistake mentioned above.  I went near updating windows on both problem devices and performing the in a higher place mentioned fixes to no avail.  Any other program/app will install from the store just not minecraft.  Help delight.

Ok, I have figured thiscode: 0x803FB005 out!

Similar some of y'all, I also had a son that was extremely disappointed terminal Saturday when he went to log on to realms to play with his friends.

It said we needed an update for realms- update was non loading- Dad (thinking rationally) deleted Minecraft then I could reinstall with new update, all to exist presented with the 0x803FB005  code of death! (many, many, times)

I tried EVERYTHING that this forum suggested to no avail. So I decided it might be my former calculator (2011 Dell Optiplex 790MT with original graphic card). Since my 2016 HP Laptop updated and installed with no issues I knew information technology was not on Microsoft server side.

I ended up buying a MSI GT710 graphic card off Amazon. Installed it (read directions) and poof!!! Minecraft stared downloading in Windows shop and loaded with no issues. This is the link to the one I bought. It's a small investment but I will accept a happy boy come tomorrow.

Information technology seems that Microsoft and the Minecraft game developer both solved that consequence. Since some days I'g able to reinstall the game in my one-time PC with directx 10, without any fault.
